Ghost Trees 2

The Ghost Trees series was inspired by the shrinking natural environments that I've witnessed around Philadelphia, PA over the years. The form was cast in hydrocal (plaster/gypsum cement) from a mold I made from my own clay original, and then hand painted with acrylics. Painting each piece is a multi-stepped process that includes masking, several washes of paint, unmasking, and additional painting. When dry, each piece was sealed with a UV coating to protect the color from fading.

Hydrocal, acrylic paint, ~10.5 inches long, 6.5 inches high, and 1.5 inches deep. ~2lbs. Sawtooth hanger on the back. $125.00. Contact to purchase.
